Institutional research & technology operations
Research and technology operations for licensed asset managers and firms, as your vendor. You hold the licence, the mandate and every investment decision. We run the research and the build, under contract, for a fixed fee.
The arrangement, stated plainly
This is a straightforward business-to-business vendor relationship, and the boundaries matter. You are the licensed, regulated entity: you hold the mandate, you make every investment decision, and you carry the responsibility for it. We are your research and technology team under contract. We build and test to your specification, for a fixed fee, with no share of outcomes. We do not manage money, we do not advise on investments, and we make no claim about how anything we build performs.
What we run for you
- Systematic research & validation. We take the hypotheses you bring and test them honestly, out-of-sample and walk-forward, against realistic costs, and report what the evidence shows, including when it doesn’t hold up. More on our quantitative research approach.
- Backtesting & research infrastructure. The platforms that make research repeatable and auditable, clean data pipelines, reproducible runs, and a full trail from result back to raw input.
- Execution & automation engineering. Turning validated logic into working, monitored systems on your brokers and venues, the same integration engineering we do everywhere, at institutional standards.
- Technology operations. Keeping the research and execution stack running, data, monitoring, reconciliation and the unglamorous reliability work that institutional use demands.
Why firms bring this to us
Standing up a full quant-research and engineering team is slow and expensive. A vendor who already has the infrastructure and the discipline lets you move faster and stay lean, while keeping the licence, the decisions and the client relationships entirely your own. It’s the model established quant firms already run internally; we provide it under contract.
Built for due diligence
Institutional engagements come with real scrutiny, and we’re built for it: NDAs as standard, and straight answers on data security, business continuity, key-person risk, subcontracting and confidentiality. Being ready to answer those well is part of the job.
Trade Vectors is a technology and research vendor. We hold no licence, manage no funds, and give no investment advice. The licensed client holds the mandate and every decision; our fee is fixed and never tied to performance or assets.
Common questions
- Are you regulated? Do you hold client money?
- No. We are a technology and research vendor, not a licensed manager or adviser. We never hold client money, never make investment decisions, and never take a share of outcomes. The licence, the mandate and every decision stay with you, the regulated entity.
- How are you paid?
- A fixed fee for the work we do, research and engineering under contract. It is not tied to performance, to assets, or to investor returns. That’s deliberate: it keeps the relationship a clean vendor arrangement, not a participation in the outcome.
- Do you work under NDA and vendor due diligence?
- Yes, as standard. We expect and welcome vendor due-diligence, data security, business continuity, key-person and confidentiality questions, and we sign NDAs on every engagement.
