NinjaTrader development, in NinjaScript

NinjaTrader 8 is built to be extended. Strategies, indicators and add-ons are written in NinjaScript, which is C#, so almost anything your strategy needs can run inside the platform. We write that code to your rules: an automated strategy that trades the way you would by hand, the indicators it depends on, and the risk controls around it.

What we build in NinjaTrader

  • Automated strategies that run your entries, exits and position sizing, with daily loss limits and position caps checked before every order.
  • Custom indicators your strategy depends on, including ones ported from TradingView or MetaTrader.
  • Add-ons: panels, order tools and monitoring windows inside the platform.
  • Outside systems that trade through NinjaTrader, using its Automated Trading Interface, when your logic lives in Python, a spreadsheet or another platform.

The NinjaTrader-specific engineering

A strategy that works in a backtest can behave differently live. The details that decide it are platform-specific:

  • When your code runs. NinjaScript can evaluate on each bar close, on each tick or on each price change. The choice changes your signals, so we match it to how your rules are written.
  • ATM strategies. If you manage exits with NinjaTrader’s ATM templates, the code has to hand over to them cleanly and keep track of what they did.
  • Restarts and disconnects. On restart, a strategy must know what position it already holds rather than starting from flat.
  • Testing honestly. We use the Strategy Analyzer and Market Replay, with realistic commissions and slippage, before anything runs on a live account.

Moving a strategy to NinjaTrader

Many clients come to us with a strategy that lives in TradingView or MetaTrader and want it running in NinjaTrader for futures. We rewrite it in NinjaScript and check that the signals match the original bar for bar before it goes live. Where they cannot match, for example because the original repaints, we tell you why. Our guide to turning a TradingView strategy into a bot explains the common traps, and Python vs C# vs C++ explains why NinjaTrader work is in C#. Choosing a platform? We build software that runs your strategy. We don’t supply strategies or signals, we don’t manage money, and we make no claim about how any strategy performs. The rules and every trading decision stay yours.

Common questions

Can you convert my TradingView strategy to NinjaScript?
Yes. We rewrite the Pine Script logic in NinjaScript and compare the signals bar by bar against the original before anything trades. Where they cannot match exactly, usually because of repainting or a different bar-processing setting, we explain the difference and agree the fix with you.
Can a system outside NinjaTrader place orders through it?
Yes. NinjaTrader’s Automated Trading Interface lets an outside program send orders into the platform, so your logic can stay in Python or another tool while NinjaTrader handles execution through your connection.
Do you sell NinjaTrader strategies?
No. We build your strategy to your rules. We don’t sell, license or recommend strategies or signals.
