Quantower development: strategies on the Strategy API

Quantower is a multi-asset trading platform that connects to data and order providers such as Rithmic, and its automated strategies are written in C#. We build Quantower strategies to your rules, with the risk controls a live system needs, and we set them up to run on a hosted machine.

What we build on Quantower

  • Strategies in C# on Quantower’s Strategy API that run your rules.
  • Position management in separate modules: stops, targets, trailing and break-even, each with selectable modes set as Quantower input parameters.
  • Session and loss limits: entries only in the market sessions you choose, and a loss limit per session and per day that switches the strategy off when it is reached.
  • Hosted deployment, so the strategy runs on a server without a desktop session open.
  • Versions for another market, adapting the same engine to a different set of instruments.

Engineering notes

A Quantower strategy reacts to events such as the close of a bar, so we keep each concern in its own module instead of tangling it into the entry logic. Every module writes its own lines to Quantower’s strategy log, which makes a bad day easy to reconstruct. A strategy on a server also has to restart and reconnect without losing track of its position; our guide to the edge cases of live trading systems covers what that involves.

An example from our work

A Quantower strategy for a client in the Gulf, with the position lifecycle split into separate modules for stops, targets, trailing and break-even, each with selectable modes set as Quantower input parameters. Entries are limited to chosen market sessions, a loss limit per session and per day switches the strategy off automatically when it is hit, and a hosted deployment through Rithmic runs it unattended without a local desktop session. The same engine was adapted to a second branch for Indian markets. Built in C# from 2024.

Client names and results are withheld. This describes the engineering only.

We build software that runs your strategy. We don’t supply strategies or signals, we don’t manage money, and we make no claim about how any strategy performs. The rules and every trading decision stay yours.

Common questions

Can you build a strategy for Quantower?
Yes. We write it in C# on Quantower’s Strategy API, to your rules and with your risk checks. The rules and every trading decision stay yours.
Does a Quantower strategy need Rithmic?
No. Quantower connects to several data and order providers. For one client we set a strategy up to run on a hosted machine through Rithmic.
Can a Quantower strategy run without my computer on?
Yes. A hosted deployment runs on a server, so no local desktop session is needed. It still has to restart and reconnect cleanly, and someone has to be alerted when it stops.
